Measure the Room Before You Choose the Piece

A sofa can fit along a wall and still leave too little space for a coffee table, accent chair, or walkway. A dining table can fit inside the room but still feel tight once the chairs pull back.

Mark the planned footprint with painter’s tape, then walk the normal path through the room. Check door swings, fireplaces, built-ins, chair clearance, and the space between nearby pieces.

A deeper seat can suit relaxed lounging, while a shallower seat may feel easier for upright sitting. Dining chairs also need enough depth for comfort without pushing too far into the walkway.

Let the Material Fit the Way You Live

Material affects care, variation, and daily use as much as appearance. Our current assortment includes acacia, mango wood, teak, upholstered seating, performance textiles, boucle, tweed, concrete, terrazzo, and other mixed materials. Natural wood grain, hide, stone-like surfaces, and hand-finished details can vary from one piece to another.

We treat that variation as part of the material, not a reason to expect every item to match a screen image exactly.

For everyday seating, check the upholstery content, care notes, and construction. For a dining table or console, look at the finish, surface material, depth, and weight.

Plan Dining Furniture Around Movement

Dining furniture needs room to work after everyone sits down.

Check the table width and depth, then leave enough space for chairs to pull back without blocking a wall, sideboard, doorway, or walking path. Comfortable movement matters more than perfect visual centering.

Once the table size is set, choose ceiling lighting that relates to its width and keeps the furniture below it in balance.

The same rule applies to consoles and sideboards. A piece should fit the wall without taking more walkway depth than the room can give up.

For a larger entryway, dining wall, or space behind a sofa, the Hayden Console is a useful example of why console depth matters. Its 84-inch length and 20-inch depth need to work with both the wall and the path in front of it.

Check the Delivery Route Before Checkout

Measure the front door, hallway, stair turn, elevator, and final doorway for larger pieces. Check product weight where listed and compare the piece with the route into the room.

We do not need every finish to match. Pieces can relate through scale, tone, shape, or material without looking like one matching set.
